Kenya, Tanzania, and the rest of the African countries are all ideal for families traveling with their children. Children are very welcome, and all the lodges do have accommodation ideal for families and activities to keep them engaged all through their stay. For families traveling with children below six years and to some extent below 12 years old, we would recommend a private vehicle for flexibility, as we have found children tire quickly, and this would be inconveniencing to those sharing a vehicle on game drives

This helps to give the grass and wildlife time regenerate, little traffic in the region as it the low season. But do not be fooled it is a great time to travel if on a budget as the rates are considerably pocket friendly. The rains transform the dry savannah to lush green offering excellent offering photographic backgrounds. In November, we experience the short rain period as well and also a good time to travel on a budget and the grass is growing back after catering to the large herds of herbivores traversing during the migration. June-October and December are the peak times for travel; in Jul – October for the wildebeest migration and December for the Christmas holiday. Wildlife abounds in Mara savannah, and the migration is in full swing making this the peak traveling season so expect high rates; we also advise you to book early to avoid missing out on the best accommodation.
Before packing, please keep in mind that most properties do have laundry facilities and that all East African safari airlines have a maximum luggage limit of 15Kg per person inclusive of hand luggage. We recommend dark shade cotton clothes for safari, and you can make your choice for those extending on a beach vacation. We mainly have chilly mornings and nights, with warm to hot temperatures during the day. Please include a light jacket or fleece, comfortable outdoor shoes, sunscreen, insect repellant creams, binoculars, and don’t forget your camera equipment and chargers. We would advise layering clothes for warmth for early morning game drives, and you can remove them as the day gets warmer.
Across East Africa, visa requirements are dependent on your nationality.
